The defending national champion LSU Tigers enter the season ranked third by Baseball America, while five other SEC teams rank inside the Top 25.
Every SEC team will open their season at home except for Georgia and Kentucky, who will play in a tournament this weekend. Georgia will participate in the QTI Apparel Opening Weekend Classic, while Kentucky will play in the Caravelle Resort Tournament.
