The Alabama Crimson Tide (14-14, 4-10) announced Tuesday afternoon that sophomore forward JaMychal Green has been suspended tonight's game tonight against the South Carolina Gamecocks (14-14, 5-9).

Green's suspension is related to academics, according to Alabama officials.

He is averaging a team-leading 14.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game and his suspension will make the Crimson Tide even more vulnerable in the frontcourt.

According to Alabama officials, Green could return before for the start of SEC Tournament play on March 11, though his return is not certain yet.
