In a matchup of the SEC's top two teams on national television, the No. 19 Vanderbilt Commodores (20-6, 9-3) fell to the No. 2 Kentucky Wildcats (26-1, 11-1) when A.J. Ogilvy's shot to send the game to overtime came off the right side of the iron.

The Commodores battled Kentucky all game long, going into halftime down just 28-26. Vanderbilt came out strong in the second half quickly tying the game and controlling the pace.

Vanderbilt led by three points at various times in the second half, before Kentucky took control in the two minutes. The Wildcats built a four-point lead with 22 seconds left in the game before Vanderbilt's John Jenkins hit a three pointer to cut the lead to 57-56.

Kentucky's Eric Bledsoe missed two free throws on the Wildcats' next possession, giving Vanderbilt a chance to win the game with 11 seconds left.

But Jenkins turned the ball over with four seconds on an ill-advised three point attempt with Kentucky's John Wall defending. Wall hit one of two free throws at the other end to give Kentucky a 58-56 lead with 2.5 seconds left.

With Vanderbilt out of timeouts, Kentucky coach John Calipari made a mistake and decided to call a timeout, giving Vanderbilt a chance to draw up a play.

"That was the dumbest timeout I've ever made as a coach," he said.

Vanderbilt heaved the ball down the floor to Ogilvy, who grabbed it on the left side of the three point arc and took two dribbles before launching a 14-foot hook shot to send it to overtime.

The shot came off the rim and likely sealed the overall SEC title for the Kentucky Wildcats.

Kentucky's DeMarcus Cousins led the Wildcats in scoring with 19 points, while Jeffery Taylor led Vanderbilt with 17 points.

Kentucky now has a two-game lead on Vanderbilt with the head-to-head tiebreaker, having beaten Vanderbilt twice now. The Wildcats can clinch the overall SEC title by winning two of their remaining four games.

They will face South Carolina (14-12, 5-7) at home on Thursday night before traveling to Knoxville to take on Tennessee (20-6, 8-4) on Saturday.
