(Getty Images) LSU Tigers wide receiver Terrance Toliver was cited by police early Sunday morning following his involvement in an incident in the Tigerland bar district.
Police had to use a Taser to subdue Toliver, according to the police report.
He was cited for public intoxication, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest outside of Fred's, a Tigerland bar, according to the Baton Rouge Advocate.
“We are in the process of gathering information on this incident,” head coach Les Miles said in a press release. “We are going to investigate it thoroughly to find out the facts and then act accordingly.”
Miles and university officials were expected to meet with Toliver today.
The 21-year-old wide receiver is LSU's top returning wide receiver following the graduation of senior Brandon LaFell.
Toliver recorded 53 catches for 735 yards and three touchdowns during the 2009 season as the second wide receiver on the depth chart.
LSU just finished their first full week of spring practice with a scrimmage on Saturday. Their spring practice will last through most of March with the spring game on March 27.
LSU basketball player Dennis Harris was also involved in the incident and cited for "interfering with a police officer" and "entering or remaining after being forbidden."
Head basketball coach Trent Johnson is also expected to speak with Harris regarding the incident. |
