The Kentucky Wildcats football team has hit the recruiting trail hard after receiving an invite to their fourth consecutive bowl following the 2009 football season, securing three highly-rated commitments in the past two days.
4-star cornerback Anterio Sloan and 3-star cornerback Dale Trimble verbally committed to head coach Rich Brooks on Sunday afternoon, and 3-star defensive tackle Brice Laughlin followed suit on Monday.
Sloan is the highest-rated prospect of the trio, checking in at 5-foot-9, 165-pounds. He has 4.4-second speed in the 40-yard dash and is ranked as the third-best player in the state of Arkansas and the 20th-best cornerback nationally, according to the Rivals recruiting service.
Trimble checks in at 5-foot-10, 175-pounds with 4.5-second speed in the 40-yard dash. He is from Gadsen, Alabama, and is one of the state's top prospects.
Finally, Laughlin 6-foot-3, 270-pounds with above average athleticism for his size. From Summerville, South Carolina, Laughlin ranks as the 60th-best defensive tackle nationally on Rivals.
Laughlin is the former teammate of current Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver A.J. Green.
The verbal commitments give Rich Brooks and the Kentucky Wildcats 21 players committed for the 2010 recruiting class, 13 of which have at least a 3-star ranking on Rivals. |
