The Tennessee Volunteers football team landed a huge prospect Wednesday afternoon when highly-touted quarteback Matt Simms signed scholarship papers to play for Tennessee.
Simms is a junior college prospect from El Camino Community College and is the son of former NFL great quarterback Phil Simms.
He will enroll in January at Tennessee after spending time in junior college following a transfer from Louisville.
If Matt is anywhere near as good as his father or his brother (NFL QB Chris Simms), he will be a huge addition to the Tennessee offense, who has struggled for the past two years while plagued by inconsistent quarterback play.
Smith also received interest from Arkansas and Mississippi State, but elected to go with Tennessee because of their "swagger." |
