Alabama F Demetrius Jemison to transfer from basketball program

Alabama announced Monday afternoon that senior forward Demetrius Jemison will transfer from the basketball program. Jemison played in 93 games during his career but did not play last year after rupturing his Achilles tendon.

Ole Miss safety Tig Barksdale has been suspended for the remainder of spring practice for a violation of team rules. His future with the team is in question after multiple off-the-field incidents. Barksdale was expected to compete for a starting spot.

The LSU Tigers will take on the North Carolina Tar Heels in their season opener in the Georgia Dome in the annual Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Classic. The game is slated for an 8 p.m. EST kickoff on ABC.

Alabama Crimson Tide backup quarterback Star Jackson is not currently practicing during the spring with what head coach Nick Saban describes as an "academic issue." Saban indicated that there was a chance Jackson could practice later in the spring.

The final game of the LSU vs. Tennessee weekend series has been moved to 7:00 p.m. EST due to impending weather on Sunday. The game will be played as the second half of a double-header.

Florida Gators football coach Urban Meyer had about a 20 minute conversation after Saturday's practice with Orlando Sentinel reporter Jeremy Fowler after confronting him on Wednesday. Fowler said Meyer apologized and the conversation was "very constructive."

Florida Gators wide receiver T.J. Lawrence missed practice today after he was taken from class on a stretcher by EMTs. He is currently undergoing tests at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla.

Tennessee defensive back Nyshier Oliver pleaded guilty to shoplifting and will serve 364 days on judicial diversion. If he stays out of trouble during that period, he can have the charge wiped from his record. Oliver stole a brown Polo shirt valued at $110 in November...
